I Interviewed Celebs At The Much Music Awards And This Is What Happened
Think of a massive street party, that is occupied with thousands of people filling the busy streets of Toronto's hippest neighbourhood, Queen St.West. Every year, Toronto welcomes a numerous amount of talent to attend and perform at one of Canada's largest extravaganzas, the Much Music Video Awards.
It was a hot summer day in Torontoand I felt like my face was going to melt. It was as if the 6ix had turned into a Sahara desert overnight, but that didn't stop me from heading over to the headquarters for the 2016 iHeart Radio MMVA's.
3:30 PM:
I arrived to pick up my media press pass underneath a huge black tent set up on Richmond street. I felt like a superstar myself, considering this was the entrance for all the celebs. And there he was... One of Canada's most recent prodigies - Shawn Mendes. Let me tell you, the guy is much taller in person and damn he's charming.
5:00 PM:
We are escorted to the building and brought to the question and answer room, the spot where I am going to meet face to face with several celebrities and have the opportunity to ask them questions. The room was quite spacious but I still wanted to get a good seat. So, I ripped out a piece of paper from my notebook and wrote: NARCITY MEDIA (to make sure no one steals my 2nd row spot.)
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM:
Last minute touch ups and final sound checks are in full effect. I explored the building, grabbed a bite from the snack bar and had a nice cold glass of Pino Grigio. Then, I proceeded to the patio which overlooked the entire stage and provided me with a spectacular view. I was able to see all the artists, but I also felt something phenomenal, that was the thrill and excitement coming from the fans getting pumped for the 2016 MMVA's.
8:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Celebrities begin to arrive on the red carpet. Most memorable entrances? Well I've got to give it up to Tegan & Sara. They arrived in a 2 storey city bus filled with twins.
Check out the red carpet outfits here.
9:00 PM - 12:00 AM
The stars begin to arrive in the Q&A room... I'm not going to lie I was quite nervous, I mean this was my first official media press conference for an awards show.

Hailey Baldwin is the first to walk into the press room. I raise my hand and am passed on the microphone. Hello Hailey, Nicole Kalashnikova from Narcity Media. What comes to mind when you think of a stereotypical Canadian?
To summarize her answer, she thinks it's weird that Canadians say washrooms vs bathrooms. The bagged milk doesn't seem normal either, but overall we're nice people in her eyes. Thanks Hailey!
Next up is Tyley Posey! The teen wolf star is fvcking hilarious I must say, he was so enthusiastic and entertaining during Q&A! I think him and I would have made great bffs.
To add in some humour, I asked him how does he think Scott McCall from Teen Wolf would have reacted to the capybaras going missing in Toronto as an animal lover? He gave a nice laugh, reenacted Scott's persona and responded with a howl!
Tegan & Sara were very supportive towards the LGBT community. They probably spent the most amount of time in the press room answering questions.
Other Interview Appearances:
Mariana's Trench - I haven't laughed so hard in a while. These guys were on fire and off the hook! No filter was required what so ever.
Shemar Moore - The Criminal Minds megastar took over the press room with his energy. He was very engaged with the media and probably would have kept on answering questions if Shawn Mendes didn't walk in.
Nash Grier - The vine entertainer elaborated on the peak of his career and what it takes to be a social media celebrity. Well, for those of you looking to go viral on media platforms, according to Nash all it takes is for you to be yourself and never to give up!

Alessia Cara - She received the best new Canadian artist award and let me tell you, you could see the happiness and glow in her eyes. The young emerging artist from Brampton Ontario, was really grateful and couldn't be more excited to receive an award in her own city.

Gigi Hadid - After a long night, she kept it short and simple. Gigi spoke about her first experience as a co-host at the awards and how much she loves Toronto.
To conclude my story, I must say the MMVA's are a rocking experience. Thank you to Bell Media, Much Music, iHeart Radio and all the organizers who worked so hard to make this show happen! I look forward to meeting new people at next years show!
Which awards show will I be at next?
